HERALD PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Colton's Joseph Moore battled it out at the state tournament with the best 2A/1A.
Colton's lone representative at the 2A/1A state wrestling tournament, 160-pounder Joseph Moore, put up a good fight in the three matches he had this past weekend at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Viking went 1-2 on the day, advancing to the semifinals of the state tournament.

In the quarterfinals, Moore pinned Mike Petersen-Brown in the third round at the 4:18 mark. In the semifinals, he fought hard against Pine Eagle's Seth Butler but ended up getting pinned late in the match at 5:35. In the consolation semifinals, Heppner/Ione's Carson Brosnan earned a major decision 14-4 over Moore to force the Colton representative out of the tournament.
