Camps and summer competition are in store for the basketball players of the future

FILE PHOTO - Molalla High School logoMolalla's winter sports season may be in the rearview, but that doesn't mean that basketball players will get too much time to miss it. Coming up soon are a pair of basketball camps that will keep the team and future Molalla High School players at the top of their games.

The high school age basketball players will have a boot camp to ring in the summer ball season beginning on Tuesday, May 28 and running through May 30 in the evening.

"We will use this camp to get work done on fundamentals and the basics of our offense and defense," Molalla girls' basketball coach Phil Wiesner said. "(We will be) getting ready the rest of our summer schedule of games and tournaments, plus get a leg up going into next season."

There will also be a youth camp for girls from the third grade through the eighth grade from Monday, June 17 until June 20. That camp will be held in the Molalla High School gym from 9:30-noon each day.

Parents interested in signing their players up for either the youth summer camp or high school boot camp and summer ball games just need to go to to register.
