Colton dominated Regis 18-2, came up short against Kennedy, Santiam in busy week

Colton's recent history has been up and down.

PMG FILE PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Colton pitcher Katelyn Dutton warms up against Kennedy. Over the past week, Colton sandwiched a thorough beat down of Regis between losses to Santiam and Kennedy.

On Monday, April 29 Santiam won a close 5-4 game over Colton that snapped a four game winning streak for the Lady Vikings. It was a more competitive affair than the first meeting between the two teams. Santiam beat Colton 7-1 way back on Thursday, April 4.

On Wednesday, May 1 the Lady Vikings put it on Regis, winning 18-2. It was an improvement over the 12-7 win they posted on Monday, April 15. Rounding out the three game week, Colton was dominated by top 10 team Kennedy 17-0 on Friday, May 3.

Colton is now 6-5 in Special District 2 (SD2), and 10-9 overall. The Lady Vikings will look to rebound over the beleaguered Culver Bulldogs (3-8 in SD2, 3-10 overall) on Monday, May 6, after the Pioneer goes to press. Colton sits ranked 20th in the state, and is fourth in league.
