Molalla finished its season with a 1-7 stretch of games after four game win streak

PMG FILE PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Molallas offense managed 194 runs over the course of the season, and allowed just 191 against. Molalla's baseball team had a tale of two seasons heading into the second half of the season. The team ran up a 9-7 record, including blowout wins over Corbett, Jefferson, and Scio, and battled the then No. 1 North Marion closely for 14 innings. The team then traded wins and losses with Estacada, and dominated Corbett and Madras to win four straight.

From that point on though the wheels fell off for the team. Four straight decisive losses, and a razor thin 6-5 loss to Estacada on Wednesday, May 1 pushed the team well below .500. Molalla bounced back with a thorough trouncing of Corbett to get the series sweep. Shootout losses to Madras and Gladstone sealed the team's fate, and locked it in its 28th ranked spot, well from playoff contention.

Molalla's offense and defense were in the middle of the pack. The team scored 194 runs over the course of its 24 game season, and gave up 191. Molalla's offense was third best in the Tri-Valley Conference, and its defense was fourth best.
