Country Christian runs to success
Country Christian's cross country team put together some solid performances March 26 at the Cougar Flat Track meet as they eye the special District 1 cross country championships Tuesday afternoon.
Country Christian did get an individual win in the meet as Ella Duckworth traversed the 5,000 meter course in a winning time of 25:48.7.
No girls team had enough competitors to score.
On the boys side, the first two slots were taken up by St. Stephen's Academy runners, who were followed by Elijah Wallbaum in third place (19:41.4). Wallbaum led a contingent of four Country Christian runners across the finish line, being followed by Josh Davis (4th, 20:29.5), Lonnie Hester (5th, 20:54.9), and Timothy Ewing (6th, 20:58.5).
The Country Christian lineup was rounded out by Casey Ives (8th, 22:26.3) and Trent Phillips (9th, 24:26.8).
Tuesday's special district-style meet will be held at Southwest Christian High School.
