Molalla track squads sizzle in win over Corbett
The Molalla High track team took both ends of a girls and boys dual meet with Corbett on April 21 on home soil.
The boys prevailed with a 90-33 score, while the girls earned a 74-27 verdict over Corbett.
Blake Olsen, Noah Roth and Benjamin Suarez each earned a pair of wins in the meet. Olsen took the javelin (133-feet, 4-inches) and long jump (18-4); Roth the 800 meters (2-minutes, 28.14 seconds) and 3,000 (11:08.11); and Suarez won the shot (37-1 ½) and discus (109-8). Olsen also picked up a second in the 400 (55.66) and Suarez did the same in the javelin (109-0).
Brayden Cunningham added a first in the 100 (12.02) and second in the 200 (24.90), Niko Boehm had seconds in the 100 (12.42) and long jump (17-5). Gabriel Aasland added a win in the triple jump (30-8) and a second in the 800 (2:28.15), Riley Reynolds won the 1,500 (4:58.15), Clay Sperl added seconds in the 1,500 (5:03.77) and 3,000 (11:19.17).
Molalla's 4x100 and 4x400 relays also collected wins that day.
For the girls, Elizabeth Grandle had a big outing, racking up wins in the 100 high hurdles (17.74), the high jump (5-0) and long jump (15-3), as well as a second in the 200 (30.35).
Paulina Beteran Munoz added wins in the 100 (13.77) and 200 (29.0), Annika Molina was second in the 100 (14.15), Paige Gump chipped in a win in the 1,500 (6:13.14), and Ella Duckworth captured the 1,500 (6:36.48).
In the field, Audra McGrath had a stellar outing, winning the shot put (23-7 ½), discus (63-0), and javelin (87-6). Emma Walsh was second in the shot (20-5) and discus (40-8),while Kadenlee Greer won the triple jump at 30-4 ½.
