Colton sees successes in three-way meet
The Colton boys track team came up one point shy Thursday, May 6, in a three-way meet with Kennedy and Gervais. The Trojans rolled to 44 points, while Colton recorded 43.
Ben Behrens had a good day, winning the shot put at 35-feet, 5-inches, as well as the high jump (5-10), and getting second in the discus with an 80-10 effort.
He also teamed with Jeremiah Armas, Caleb Behrens and Cody Tiano to win the 4x100 relay in 46.9 seconds.
Caleb Behrens was second in both the 100 (11.9) and 200 (24.4); Tiano was the long jump at 17-6, and Zane Dinnell was second in both the shot put (34-6) and high jump (5-6).
On the girls side, Colton was third with 19 points.
Highlights for the Vikings were Rowyn Lawrynuik winning both the shot put (28-1) and discus (84-0) and Megan Bryant getting second in the discus at 81-8.
The Vikings now look to the Special District 2 championships on Saturday, May 15, at Regis High School. Field events start at 10 a.m., running events begin at noon.
