The Molalla boy's and girl's track teams put together some good performances May 14-15 at Madras High School during the Tri-Valley Conference District Meet.
As teams, the boys scored 147 points, good enough for third behind Madras and North Marion; the girls tallied 103, which placed them fourth overall.
Brayden Cunningham had a very good two days for the Indians, winning the 100 meters (11.34), 110 high hurdles (17.06) and running a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team, joining Gabriel Aasland, Antuan Peterson and Riley Reynolds in legging out a time of 3:44.01.
But his weren't he only wins. Peterson captured the 800 meters in 2:07.97, Clay Sperl won the 1,500 in 4:42.10, Noah Roth won the 3,000 (10:30. 54) while also getting third in the 1,500 with a 4:48.70 clocking. Blake Olsen snagged a title with a win in the long jump at 20-feet, 1.5-inches.
Also doing well were Reynolds, who was third in the 800 (2:08.40) and second in the 3,000 (10:33.81), Kadyn Eves was third in the 3,000 (10:46.19), Benjamin Suarez was third in the discus (115-6) and Cole Beyer snagged a third in the javelin at 115-6.
For the girl's team, Elizabeth Grandle won the 300 low hurdles in 52.06, was second in the 100 high hurdles (16.42), second in the high jump (5-2) and second in the long jump (15-7.75).
Paulina Beteran Munoz was second in the 100 (13.39), Kadenlee Greer was second in the 400 (1:05.14) and the triple jump (30-5.25), and Paige Gump was third in the 800 (2:43.10) to highlight the efforts.
A coaches-created state meet event will be held May 21-22 at Siuslaw High School.
