The Cougars finish second in the team race at the Southwest Christian Invitational on Oct. 1; eye more races

The Country Christian boys cross country team snagged a second place finish Oct. 1 at the Southwest Christian Invitational.

The Cougars tallied 35 team points to finish seven behind eventual champion Fort Vancouver.

Cooper Halverson led the charge for Country Christian, running to a fourth place individual finish, clocing a time of 19:20.80 over the 5,000 meter varsity course.

Halverson had some teammates close by, with Elijah Wallbaum finishing sixth (19:34.60), Josh Davis finishing seventh (19:49.80), Timothy Ewing in ninth (20:16.60) and Lonnie Hester rounding out the scoring runners with an 11th place finish (20:35.20).

The Cougars are back in action Oct. 7 at the Stayton Regis Invitational.
