The local Fire Hitters finished off an unbeaten regular season with a run to the county tourney title game

A nice run through pool play and bracket play ended with a second-place finish at the Clackamas County Girls Softball Association End of Season Tournament for the Molalla Fire Hitters, the Molalla Youth Sports U10 softball team.

The squad battled through a rain-plagued regular season to finish unbeaten heading into the End of Season Tournament on June 11.

The Fire Hitters won both its bracket play games to earn the No. 1 seed into Sunday's bracket play.

In the opener, they defeated Corbett in a hard-fought match-up by an 8-7 score, thrusting them into a semifinal battle with West Linn. The Fire Hitters would win that one 12-2, putting them into the championship game against the Happy Valley Venom.

Unfortunately, the magical season run would end with an 8-5 loss in the title game to close out the season.
