Clackamas County man arrested, charged with sexually abusing three girls
A Clackamas County man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing three young girls, but police have reason to believe there may be even more victims and are seeking tips.
Michael Wayne Champagne, 63, was booked in the Clackamas County Jail on charges of rape, unlawful sexual penetration, two counts of sodomy and three counts sexual abuse, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
Champagne's bail is set at $750,000, booking information shows.
Unfortunately, police believe there could be additional victims, the Sheriff's Office announced in a press release.

Champagne has a long history of run-ins with the law, beginning as early as 1989 and spanning six Oregon counties, per Clackamas County Circuit Court records. His prior convictions range from a hunting violation to interfering with a peace officer and tampering with a witness.
In the current cases involving charges of sexual crimes, a trial by 12-person jury is scheduled for April 14, 2020 at 9 a.m. at the Clackamas County Courthouse.
