Parade around Sahalee Park

"America, You Rock!" is the theme for this year's Fourth of July community celebration at Sahalee Park in Madras.

Events get started at 6 a.m. with the Todd Beamer Memorial Run, followed by the Elk's Lodge breakfast from 7-10 a.m.

The Fourth of July Parade rolls at 11 a.m., coming down 10th Street to B Street, then around the park. After the parade, stay at the park for lunch, and an afternoon of live music, old-fashioned kids' games, and more, sponsored by the Madras-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.

Food offerings include Lions Club hamburgers; the Jimenez Tacos stand burritos, tacos and tostados; La Cabinita Mexican food and fruit cups, Madras Bowl pizza; Kids wrestling booth's hot dogs and SnoCones; and Warm Springs Peaceful Spirit's Indian tacos and frybread.

The day culminates with a spectacular fireworks display by the Sparklers at dusk, around 10 p.m.
