W.S. mans car damaged

by: PHOTO COURTESY OF OSP - A Warm Springs driver managed to avoid a head-on collision with an intoxicated driver, on Friday, about 17 miles south of Madras.A 45-year old Bend man is facing a driving under the influence of intoxicants charge following a Friday night traffic crash that resulted in minor injuries along U.S. Highway 97 about 17 miles south of Madras in Jefferson County.

On Nov. 1, at approximately 9:25 p.m., a 1985 Toyota Camry driven by Damon Smith, 45, of Bend, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane. A 2012 Chevrolet four-door driven by Tracy Graybael, 51, of Warm Springs, was northbound and took evasive action to the right to avoid the oncoming Toyota. Both vehicles sideswiped as they passed one another.

by: PHOTO COURTESY OF OSP - A Bend man was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants for a crash on Nov. 1,  on U.S. Highway 97.Smith was transported by ambulance to St. Charles Bend for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries. He was cited by Oregon State Police for DUII at the hospital where he was being treated.

Graybael and his passenger Gloria Martinez, 44, of Republic, Wash., both had minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene.

OSP was assisted at the scene by local emergency responding agencies. Senior trooper Clint Prevett is the lead investigator.
