The water allotment for North Unit Irrigation District customers was increased effective Aug. 13, according to a statement from the district.

At the NUID Board of Directors Aug. 12 meeting, the board approved an increase of .50 acre feet for Crooked River water rights and .50 acre feet for Deschutes River water rights.

The allotted amount for Crooked River water rights is now 2.0 acre-feet per acre and 3.0 acre-feet per acre for Deschutes water rights.

The district will continue to monitor water supply and availability conditions throughout the season to determine whether additional water supply adjustments are warranted.
