National Weather Service considers JC Emergency Management a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has recognized Jefferson County Emergency Management, headed by Mark Carman, as a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador.

The Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador initiative is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's effort to formally recognize NOAA partners who are improving the nation's readiness, responsiveness, and overall resilience against extreme weather, water, and climate events.

As a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, Jefferson County Emergency Management works closely with the NOAA's Weather Service to relay hazardous weather information to citizens and numerous other agencies within the Jefferson County.
