Seven Democrats running for the 2nd Congressional District seat held by U.S. Rep. Greg Walden will participate in a forum.

PIONEER LOGO - Democratic candidates for the 2nd Congressional District will participate in a forum March 28, at the library annex in Madras.The public is invited to a candidate forum, at 6 p.m., March 28, featuring the seven candidates running for the 2nd Congressional District of the House of Representatives.

The forum will be held at the Jefferson County Library annex, on the corner of Eighth and D Streets.

The candidates who have indicated they will attend are Eric Burnette and Michael Byrne, of Hood River, Jim Crary, of the Ashland area, Raz Mason, of The Dalles, and Jamie McLeod-Skinner, Jennifer Nearhring, and Tim White, all of Bend. The moderator will be Jack Buffin, of Madras.

Each candidate will be asked a couple of questions, after their brief introductory comments. Then, the floor will be opened for guests to ask questions.

The Jefferson County Democrats are pleased to be able to offer the forum so the community can have a better understanding of those who are running to represent the district in Washington, D.C.

The candidates are hoping to unseat U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Hood River, who has served in that position since 1999.
