Merkley set to return for town hall
U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley will return to Jefferson County April 4, for his annual town hall, to be held in Warm Springs.
Merkley will update constituents on his work in Washington, D.C., and answer questions and invite suggestions about how to tackle the challenges facing Oregon and America.
The Jefferson County Town Hall will be held Wednesday, April 4, at 5 p.m., at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy, 50 Chukar Road, Warm Springs.
The local visit is part of a two-day swing through four Central Oregon counties — Klamath, Lake, Deschutes and finally Jefferson County, on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3 and 4.
"In our 'We the People' democracy, town hall meetings are an essential tool for me to hear from Oregonians and represent their interests back in D.C.," Merkley said. "I invite everyone in these counties to come and discuss what we need to do to strengthen our state and our nation."
Since joining the Senate in 2009, Merkley has held a town hall in each of Oregon's 36 counties every year.
The Klamath County Town Hall will be held Tuesday, April 3, at 11:30 a.m., at the Oregon Institute of Technology Student Union, in the Mazama-Scott Room, 3201 Campus Drive, Klamath Falls.
Tuesday afternoon, April 3, at 5:30 p.m., he will hold the Lake County Town Hall at the Lakeview Elks Lodge No. 1536, at 323 North F St.
Before the Jefferson County meeting, the Deschutes County Town Hall will be held in Sisters, at 11 a.m. on April 4, at the Sisters High School Auditorium, 1700 McKinney Butte Road.
The town halls will be his 340th, 341st, 342nd, and 343rd as a U.S. senator.
