The July First Thursday event will begin at 5 p.m., July 5, and continue until 9 p.m.

HOLLY GILL/MADRAS PIONEER - Last month's first Park and Play was a success, with crowd of locals participating in downtown activities.A wine tasting and three live music groups will be part of the second Park and Play event, slated for Thursday, July 5, in downtown Madras, from 5-9 p.m., on Fifth Street, between C and E streets.

Live musicians will include Cassia Dawn and Brandon Visser at Wild Bleu, Tia Lempert on ukulele at Sunshine Corner (Fifth and D streets), and In Debt at Vendor Village (the parking lot at Fifth and C streets).

At 6 p.m., there will be a dance performance at Sunshine Corner by Unique Performing Arts students.

Have some fun by joining the "Scavenger Hunt" along Fifth and D streets. Bring your cell phone for photos and #hashtags for more entries to win. Scavenger game cards can be picked up at Wild Bleu or Windermere Realty.

Great Earth Cafe and Market will hold a wine tasting from 5-7 p.m.

Art openings and demonstrations will be held at Art Adventure Gallery from 5:30-7 p.m., featuring the works of Thomas Zalewski, and at Studio on Fifth, where a carving demo will be given by Royce Embanks.

Downtown shops will be open, along with booths set up by several local vendors.
