Gary Buss, one of the organizers, said there will be more than 40 venues this year and some 200 volunteers offering free haircuts, family photos, hot dogs, root beer floats, clothing, car washes and bicycle repairs, just to name a few items.

"The hearing and vision clinic will be held across the street at the Madras Christian Church because it's a quieter place," Buss noted.

Parking will be available on Sixth Street, C Street, and at the old Thomas Sales car lot by the post office.

"Dr. Halley, the veterinarian, will be there again giving free pet vaccinations, but there is a limit of three pets per family this year," Buss said.

In the past, people have been lined up early for free services at the dental van, he said, adding health information and free items will also be available at St. Charles Health Services and Mosaic Medical booths, and there will be free blood sugar checks.

The popular Kids' Corner will have three bounce houses and several games and activities.

The event is put on by Madras churches. "It's a day when we just care about people, no strings attached," Buss said.
