Crews continue installing striping, safety features on U.S. Highway 97, between Madras and Terrebonne.

Construction is continuing on two Oregon Department of Transportation projects in Jefferson County — on U.S. Highway 97, from Madras to Terrebonne, and two bridge replacements north of Madras on Highway 97.

Knife River will be installing striping and other safety features on Highway 97, between its junction with U.S. Highway 26, south of Madras, to 10th Street in Terrebonne, through Thursday night.

There will be one-way traffic with flaggers and pilot cars between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., with traffic delays of up to 20 minutes. There may be shoulder work during the day, and passing lanes may be closed.

The Stellar J Corp. is performing bridge replacement work on the Spanish Hollow Creek and Trout Creek bridges on Highway 97. Traffic is reduced to a single lane through the work zone and is controlled by temporary signals; minor delays are anticipated.

ODOT, which is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system, invests in Oregon's future through roadway improvement projects. All work is dependent on weather conditions and schedules are subject to change.

Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided alternate routes through the work zone.
