A Madras man, who was seriously hurt in a collision between a motorcycle and SUV, was listed in good condition Sept. 13.

HOLLY M. GILL/MADRAS PIONEER - A Madras man was injured Monday in a collision between his motorcycle and a Ford Explorer. Personnel from Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services and Jefferson County Fire District prepare the motorcyclist for transport to the hospital.A Madras businessman, Brent Moschetti, 61, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Sept. 10, on U.S. Highway 97, at Northeast Chestnut Street.

The Madras Police Department reported that Moschetti, who was driving a red, 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was behind a northbound service vehicle that slowed to turn at the intersection with Chestnut.

At about 3 p.m., a 2018 Ford Explorer, driven by Mark Procopio, was on Chestnut, saw the service truck preparing to turn, and turned onto the highway, unaware of the motorcyle behind the truck.

Moschetti attempted to drive around the service truck, a Century Link vehicle operated by Scott Haney, and collided with the driver's side of the Ford Explorer.

Moschetti was treated on the scene and then transported by Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services to St. Charles Madras. He was later airlifted to St. Charles Bend, where he underwent surgery, and was listed in good condition on Sept. 13.

No others were injured in the crash and no citations were issued.
