According to a Deschutes County Sheriff's Office press release, at 6:05 a.m., Christmas morning, Dec. 25, Deschutes deputies conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck for a traffic violation.

Ayala was scheduled for a probation violation status check hearing on Dec. 31, in Jefferson County Circuit Court.
