The public is invited to U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley's town hall at 11 a.m., Jan. 4, at the PAC.

HOLLY M. GILL - U.S. Sen. Jeff MerkleyU.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley will return to Jefferson County Friday, Jan. 4, for a town hall meeting to update constituents on his work in Washington, D.C., answer questions and invite suggestions about how to tackle the challenges facing Oregon and America.

The Jefferson County Town Hall will be held at 11 a.m. in the Madras Performing Arts Center at 412 SE Buff St.

Merkley will also hold town halls in Deschutes and Crook counties on Friday.

In Deschutes County, the town hall will be held at 3 p.m. at Mountain View High School, 2755 NE 27th St., in Bend.

The Crook County Town Hall will follow at 7 p.m., at Crook County High School, 1100 SE Lynn Blvd., in Prineville.

"In our 'We the People' democracy, town hall meetings are an essential tool for me to hear from Oregonians and represent their interests back in D.C.," Merkley said. "I invite everyone in these counties to come and discuss what we need to do to strengthen our state and our nation."

Since joining the Senate in 2009, Merkley has held a town hall in each of Oregon's 36 counties every year. Following nine town halls the first week of January, he will have held 369 town halls since becoming a U.S. senator.
