Dave Slaght, who was reelected in May, recently moved out of school district and resigned.

Culver School District has an opening for position No. 2 on its school board. Dave Slaght ran unopposed in the May election, but recently resigned, since he has accepted work outside of the area and no longer lives in the school district.

The Culver School District Board of Directors' secretary will be accepting applications through Aug. 9, from anyone interested in serving on the school board. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and a registered voter that has resided in the Culver School District for at least one year.

Applicants may not be an officer or employee of the district.

School boards are responsible for setting policy, goals and overseeing the financial health of the district. The successful candidate will serve until the next election cycle in the spring of 2021.
