Two men, one 70 and one 18, crash at intersection of Culver Highway and Ford Lane.

Oregon State Police, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Jefferson County Fire Department and Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services were all dispatched around 11:48 a.m. to the accident.

Oregon State Police reported that the incident occurred when the 18-year-old driver of a Kia Optima, Alexander Sanchez Cortez, of Metolius, who was southbound on the highway, attempted to turn east on Ford Lane, and failed to see and yield to another driver.

Johnny Lee O'Keefe, 70, of Terrebonne, was northbound in a Dodge Ram pickup on Highway 361, also known as the Culver Highway, and was unable to stop when the Kia turned in front of him. He struck the Kia, sending it about 100 yards back to the north, and off on the east shoulder of the road.

The pickup rolled over onto its side, also to the east of the highway. Emergency personnel extricated both drivers from their vehicles and JCEMS transported both to area hospitals.

The police report noted that both drivers "are expected to make full recoveries."

The fire department, which responded with with three vehicles and eight personnel, checked for fire hazards and help clear the area.

Oregon Department of Transportation was also at the scene.

No charges had been filed as of Monday, according to OSP.
