Airshow of the Cascades puts out call for people to assist with the 2019 event.

HOLLY M. GILL/MADRAS PIONEER - The Airshow of the Cascades is looking for volunteers for this year's event, which will run from Aug. 23-24. Volunteers help the event, shown here in 2018, run smoothly.Airshow of the Cascades is putting out the call again for volunteers to participate this year for the Aug. 23 and 24, shows. The show is billed as the second largest air show event in Oregon.

Joe Krenowicz, chairman of the board of directors, reports that over the past few years the show has added more acts and a wide variety of activities including airplanes, cars, antique motorcycles, military displays, live music and food court.

"The volunteers are key to the success of the air show and we value them as our ambassadors to Madras and Jefferson County," said Krenowicz. Shifts in various area's of the air show are still open and the volunteers are treated with admission, snacks and a commemorative T-shirt.
