The cause of a late night fire in an unoccupied mobile home is under investigation.

An unoccupied mobile home at Green Spot Mobile Home Park suffered damage in a late night fire last week.

The Jefferson County Fire Department was dispatched to the fire at 11:55 p.m. Aug. 12. Firefighters arrived to find light gray smoke coming out from under the trailer's eaves, but no visible flames, according to Capt. Kasey Skaar.

The first engine crew quickly knocked down the fire, while the second engine arrived to back up the fire attack crew and conduct salvage and overhaul.

Ten volunteer firefighters and four career firefighters responded with two engines, one truck, a water tender, and a command vehicle.

Cause of the fire is under investigation. JCFD was assisted by the Madras Police Department and Pacific Power.
