Grinch, Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, Holiday Gala, school concerts to take stage

The holiday season is a busy time for the Madras Performing Arts Center, with a play, pet comedy, gala and concert.

The Madras High School Drama program kicks off December with a three-day run of its performance of "The Grinch." The play will be at 7 p.m. each night, Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7, and it's free to attend.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m., the World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater makes a return trip to the PAC. Direct from Las Vegas, Nevada, Gregory Popovich brings his talented menagerie of rescued pets to perform in the family-friendly show.

Tickets are available at or by calling their box office at 800-838-3006. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Popovich and his dogs appeared in an early season of "America's Got Talent." His Madras performance is in association with the Three Rivers Humane Society.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, the PAC presents its Sixth Annual Holiday Gala. Curtain is at 7 p.m. The gala features many local or regional acts. Tickets are only $5. Last year was completely sold out, so purchase tickets early. Tickets are available at the PAC Box Office (541-475-4327), Madras-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, or Dance Arts of Madras. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.

Along with those three big events, the PAC will also be hosting Jefferson County Middle School Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 11; the Madras Elementary Holiday Concert at 1 p.m. Dec. 13; Buff Elementary Holiday Concert at 1 p.m. Dec. 18; and the Madras High School Music Program's Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 18.
