The city of Madras is seeking people interested in the Budget Committee for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. You do not have to be an accountant to be part of the Committee, you just have to care about your city, reside in the city limits, be over 18 years of age and be a registered voter, according to a news release. The Budget Committee reviews the proposed operating and capital budget each fiscal year and makes a recommendation on the budget to the City Council for final enactment. The committee makes recommendations to the City Council on the annual budget, the financial management goals and policies and on specific issues as directed by the council. The Budget Committee may also meet to discuss updates to long-range financial plans and policies. The committee generally meets during the months of April- June.
