To protect our employees and the public, we're asking you to call or email rather than come in.

TERESA JACKSON/MADRAS PIONEER - The Madras Pioneer office's doors are closed in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.I came back to journalism after a almost a decade away because I believe in the power of newspapers to bring people together.

I did not dream when I joined the Pioneer staff in October that I would be covering a pandemic, nor that we would all be asked to stay away from each other.

That goes for our office, too. For now, we're asking you to stay away, both for our employees' safety and for yours.

But please don't stop communicating with us.

We have a mail slot where you can drop off print material.

You can reach all staff by phone at 541-475-2275.
