JCFD responds to early morning fire at trailer park
Jefferson County Fire District No. 1 responded to a house fire at Green Spot Mobile Home Park in Madras at 1:33 a.m. Friday, April 24.
Units arrived to find smoke showing from the eaves and vents of a single-family residence. All occupants were out of the house.
Crews suppressed the fire, which was mostly confined to the attic, according to a press release from the fire district. They stayed on the scene for two and a half hours, checking for extension of the fire and "performing salvage and overhaul."
The house was damaged significantly. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but it appears to have started in the area of the bathroom ceiling fan.
Red Cross was notified to help the occupants of the home.
Four volunteers and four JCFD staff responded with one engine, one truck and two command vehicles.
The Madras Police Department, Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services and Pacific Power also responded.
