Woman seriously injured after crashing into barrier
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Jefferson County Fire District No. 1, Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services and Life Flight personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash into concrete barriers on Pelton Dam Road and Elk Drive at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 13.
The driver, 24-year-old Elyse Bagley, of Warm Springs, was taken by Life Flight to St. Charles Bend, according to JCSO. She had serious injuries, according to the fire district.
The sheriff's office said in a Facebook post that Bagley had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend near Southwest Belmont Lane and Southwest Elk Drive.
"He got out of the car and she sped away, northbound on (Southwest) Elk Drive at a high rate of speed, maneuvering around barriers in the road ...," the post said.
Those barriers indicated that Elk Drive was closed, the post said. She kept driving fast and slammed head-on into concrete barriers blocking Elk Drive, which is closed because of a landslide.
