Funds from an Oregon Impact grant will be used to crack down on intoxicated driving through Sept. 7.

The Madras Police Department will participate in the Oregon DUII High Visibility Enforcement Grant using grant funds from Oregon Impact.

Officers will be conducting DUII patrols through Sept. 7, cracking down on people who drive while intoxicated.

"The patrols are part of a grant awarded to help us focus extra manpower for enforcing DUIIs and keeping the community safe," Sgt. Mel Brown said.
