D & D Realty becomes Dreams Realty Group
Ever since Jennifer Holcomb started in real estate five years ago, she has dreamed of running her own office.
Now, that dream has become a reality.
This month, Holcomb bought D & D Realty Group from Delita Cordes and is rebranding the Madras business as Dreams Realty Group.
"I've been working with Delita in D & D Realty for the last five years, and my goal has always been to run my own office," Holcomb said, noting that Cordes wants to slow down a bit. "I talked to her about buying the business, and we put together a plan."
Cordes is not retiring – she will continue to work as a real estate agent, but now for Dreams Realty Group. She has been in real estate for almost 30 years and opened D & D Realty Group in 2008. Back then, the business name meant Delita and Daughters, but her daughters are no longer part of the business.
"I'm not getting out of the business. I've already had a few panicked phone calls, 'You can't leave me! You're my agent,'" Cordes said. "I'm just simply not going to own the business. I'm just putting a different hat on. Somebody else needs to take the business to the next level."
She plans to enjoy her family and friends, hike more and do a little traveling.
"It's a great time to sell a business that's doing extremely well and is on top of its game, and it'll help Jennifer be more successful," Cordes said. "Jennifer has a natural ability that you can't teach people that will assure her success."
In addition to brokers Holcomb and Cordes, Dreams Realty Group agents include Joe McDonald, Wendi Monroe, Amanda Norris and Julia Randall. Monica Miranda remains as the bilingual office manager. All agents are licensed in Oregon. They serve all of Central Oregon and beyond.
The business will remain at the Southeast Fifth Street location, but Holcomb is rebranding it with the new name, signage and website. Keep an eye on the website and Facebook page for details about an upcoming grand opening.
When choosing a new name for her business, Holcomb liked the dream, believe, achieve thought process.
"If you can dream it, you can work towards it, you can achieve it," she said. "You've got to want it in order to get it."
From the real estate aspect, home ownership is a dream for a lot of people.
"Some of our clients come in and might have credit issues, or they feel like buying a home is out of reach for them," Holcomb explained.
But they can work with a lender to help them achieve that dream of home ownership – and make it a reality.
"I have clients that I've worked with for five years," Holcomb said. "It's helping people get to their dreams and working together to get them there."
The new owner wants to continue to be an advocate, be present at events and volunteer in the community. Holcomb is a Madras city counselor, has been president of Jefferson County Little League, and is a coach at 3 Peaks CrossFit.
"All of our agents are very community oriented," Holcomb said. "We love being a part of this community, and we support this community, and we would like to serve the people in the community."
Cordes noted Holcomb's community involvement and is both glad and excited Holcomb is taking the helm of the business.
"She has a natural ability, and I know that she'll do real well as a business owner," Cordes said.
