Superintendent panel sought
Jefferson County 509-J School District Board of Directors invite community members to serve on the Superintendent Interview Observer Panel to observe the preliminary interviews of candidates for the district superintendent position.
Interviews with superintendent applicants begin at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 22 and Feb. 23. While board members will be conducting the interviews, each member of the Interview Observer Panel will listen and individually provide input to the board on each candidate's responses. This input will help the board select candidate finalists to return for final interviews.
The board of directors intends to invite district employees and community members to serve on the Interview Observer Panel. Board members would like to have a broad representation of the community.
The board will review all candidates and will attempt to appoint community members who represent a balance of viewpoints and interests. All candidates will be notified of their selection or non-selection by Feb. 12.
The board plans to interview the final superintendent candidates in early March.
The board hired Northwest Leadership Associates to guide the district in the selection process of the new superintendent after Ken Parshall announced his retirement in October. As of Monday, the firm had nine candidates for the position.
