The Oregon Health Authority reports lowest COVID-19 case count since October

Reported new COVID-19 cases, deaths and hospitalizations fell Monday, Feb. 8, continuing a weeks-long downward trend.

The Oregon Health Authority reported 305 new cases on Feb. 8, the lowest case count since Oct. 19. That compares to 393 new cases reported on Saturday.

The total number of confirmed and presumptive cases in Oregon is 147,419. The OHA also reported one new COVID-19-related death, raising the state's toll to 2,024. That compares to four deaths reported Saturday.

State health officials also reported the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon was 221 on Monday, seven less than on Sunday. There were 55 COVID-19-positive patients in ICU beds, two more than Sunday.

The OHA reports Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 572,400 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
