Warm Springs man faces strangulation charges
A Warm Springs man was arrested on several assault charges Thursday, March 25.
According to a press release from Lt. of Investigations Joshua Capehart of the Warm Springs Tribal Police Department, on March 25, officers responded to the West Hills area of Warm Springs on a report of an assault.
Subsequently, Andrew Stacona Jr., age 21, was arrested on tribal charges of assault and battery, child abuse, harassment, and abduction.
After further investigation completed by the Warm Springs Tribal Police Department Investigation Division and the FBI, a federal complaint was completed and a warrant issued for the federal charge of assault by strangulation.
According the Capehart, Stacona knew the victim, a 22-year-old female.
Stacona was transported to Portland on March 30 for his initial appearance.
