Bear Drive hearing Wednesday, April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Madras Performing Arts Center

Jefferson County Commissioners are holding a public hearing to get citizen feedback Wednesday, April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Madras Performing Arts Center.

Jefferson County Commissioners will host a hearing Wednesday, April 28 to discuss solutions to the dangerous intersection of Bear Drive at Highway 97.

The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at the Madras Performing Arts Center, 412 SE Buff St.

After 15 accidents involving five fatalities in the past four years, the Oregon Department of Transportation recommends closing Bear Drive and Eureka Lane at Highway 97.

ODOT will have representatives at the hearing to explain alternatives.
