NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER PHOTO - Two National Day of Prayer events will be held in Jefferson County on Thursday, May 6.

Madras House of Prayer is hosting two opportunities for the people of Jefferson County to gather together to pray during National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 6.

The first is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Madras Gospel Mission Community Center, 164 SE D St. in Madras.

The second prayer event is from 5 to 6 p.m. May 6 at Metolius Friends Church, 575 Hood Ave. in Metolius.

Madras House of Prayer leaders Sue Harrison and Kathy While said it is the community's privilege to gather together to pray for the nation. The theme for this year is "Lord Pour Out Your Love, Life and Liberty on America," from 2 Corinthians 3:17.

"Prayer is an opportunity to co-labor with God for his kingdom to come, his will be done in America," Harrison said. "One of our greatest joys is experiencing people from all denominations joining together, in unity, to not only pray for Jefferson County, but our nation."
