Huge success for first Buckin' in the Canyon rodeo
It's been 25 years since the Crooked River Ranch hosted an honest-to-goodness rodeo.
Saturday, June 5 more than 1,000 people filled the bleachers, cowboys and cowgirls from across the state came to compete.
"It's been a long-term goal of mine," says Ranch manager Judy Lapora. "We have this lovely arena, and we need to take advantage of it."
The event promoter, Claude Rickman, promises to make this an annual event the first weekend of June.
"We've branded the date," says Rickman. "You don't need to know the date, just look at the calendar and mark the first weekend of June for the Buckin' in the Canyon rodeo."
