Fire damages auto repair shop
An automotive repair shop caught fire early Thursday on Southwest Madison Street in Madras.
A Jefferson County Fire District No. 1 media release reports that crews were dispatched to a structure fire at 1:04 a.m. June 17. Fire units responded from both the Madras and Culver stations.
Fire crews found smoke visible and fire on the backside of the repair shop building. Crews had to make access through many golf carts and force doors to reach the fire. Crews were able to extinguish the fire and move to salvage and overhaul.
The cause is currently under investigation.
There were no injuries.
Madras Police Department, Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Warm Springs Fire and Safety, Pacific Power, The State Fire Marshal's Office, and Oregon State Police assisted.
