The single-vehicle accident happened Saturday morning near Suttle Lake on Highway 20

A Bend man died in a motorcycle crash Saturday morning in Jefferson County.

On Saturday, July 24, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20W near Suttle Lake close to milepost 88.

OSP reported that a preliminary investigation revealed a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Richard Cissna, 65, of Bend, was westbound when it attempted to avoid traffic that had slowed, lost control and crashed.

Cissna sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The road was closed temporarily.

OSP was assisted by Black Butte Police Department, Black Butte Fire Department, and Oregon Department of Transportation.
