Three Jefferson County students won $10,000 Oregon College Savings Plan Scholarships

Jefferson County officials have announced the final two adult $10,000 winners of the county Take Your Shot Oregon incentive campaign and the three $10,000 scholarship winners.

Stephen Jasa, of Madras, and Raymond Havelock, of Crooked River Ranch, each won $10,000. Eight Jefferson County adults won the lottery. Six winners were announced last week: Jonathan Gandy, of Madras; Bergen Spring, of Madras; James Manion, of Madras; Steven Smith, of Culver; Joseph Martinez, of Warm Springs; and April Lepin, of Madras.

Three Jefferson County students ages 12 to 18 won $10,000 Oregon College Savings Plan Scholarships.

The county released the names of the guardian or parent of the winners: Liana Holyan, of Warm Springs; Sylvia Rufener, of Madras; and Norma Ruiz, of Metolius.

Jefferson County residents who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination were eligible for the prizes.

On Aug. 2, Oregon Health Authority announced the final statewide winners in the Take Your Shot Oregon incentive drawing, which included 36 individual county winners of the $10,000 prize and the four statewide Travel Oregon incentive drawings. Wayne Schultz was the Jefferson County winner. Mitch Evans was the Central Oregon region winner of the Travel Oregon prize.
