"Coralee Popp, the executive director of the gallery, called Edward when the October show was canceled," said Jefferson County Arts Association Board President Barbara Williams. "He is a gifted photographer and a local favorite. We are fortunate that he had a body of work to share with us on such short notice."

Heath, known around Warm Springs by his nickname "Hot Dog," is of Warm Springs, Wasco, Yakama, Paiute and Klamath descent. He was born in Madras and raised in the Simnasho area by his uncle, Chief Delvis Heath.

He spent a lot of his early years helping train race horses and working on the family ranch, moving cattle between the Mutton Mountains and the Deschutes River areas. He has been doing photography for the past three-and-a-half years and says he really enjoys it as a hobby.

Most people have found interest in his photos by way of social media.

"I do not specialize in any form of photography, mainly capturing things I find interesting along roadsides and trails," Heath said. "I like to think I capture things that have non-obvious beauty of things others take for granted."
