Kiwanis Club accepts donations to provide Christmas gifts for kids in need across Jefferson County

Operation Rudolph kicks off again this year to provide Christmas gifts to local kids in need. As we turn toward the holiday season, Kim Schmith and the Kiwanis Club will accept donations to providing kids in Jefferson County with gifts to open Christmas morning.

"If you have hope in your life, you look at life differently, I want them to believe in their community, and there is goodness in the world," said Schmith.

The application to apply for holiday assistance is currently open until December 7, applicants can apply by contacting Oregon Department of Human Services Self Sufficiency at (541) 475-6131or at

You can support Operation Rudolph by sending a donation to Kiwanis at PO Box 65, Madras Oregon 97741 or by donating toys or wrapping paper at local drop boxes coming soon. This year, they are especially in need of wrapping paper and a space to use.
