Community awards the First Baby family a variety of gifts in honor of the occasion

COURTESY PHOTO - Ransom Lee Law, born to Shawn Law and Chardae Baird of Prineville, was the first baby born at St. Charles Madras in 2022. Born at 9 p.m. on Jan. 2, Ransom weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and measured 21 inches long.

Shawn Law and Chardae Baird, of Prineville, are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Ransom Lee Law, born at St. Charles Madras Jan. 2, 2022, at 9:00 p.m. At birth, Ransom weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches in length. Ransom joins a brother, and three sisters, at home.

Paternal grandparents are William Law of Prineville, and Lori Arnott of Redmond. Great-grandmother, Diana Mower of Oklahoma. Maternal grandparents are Jack Johnson of Gresham and Ronna Holliday of Prineville.

For being the first baby born at the Madras hospital, Ransom and his family won several gifts from various Madras businesses as part of the annual First Baby Contest organized by the Madras Pioneer with St. Charles Madras as the main sponsor. The First Baby Contest has been part of the Pioneer for 73 years.
