30 candidates file for eight total positions in three district on Tribal Council

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will hold their 29th Tribal Council elections Wednesday March 30 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Warm Springs Community Center.

30 nominees across the three districts have submitted nominations for positions in the Agency, Simnasho and Seekseeque districts.

In the Agency District, there are 18 nominees filling three positions. The nominees are Rain Circle, Michael Clements, Reina Estimo, E. Austin Green Jr., Anita Jackson, Danni Katchia, Uren Leonard Jr., James Manion, Daniel Martinez, Cyrille Mitchell, William Sam, Alvis Smith III, Glendon Smith, Jason Smith, Jonathan W. Smith, Ryan Smith Sr., Valerie Switzler, and Dennis White III

In the Seekseeque District, there are six nominees filling two positions. The nominees are Rosa Graybael, Reuben Henry Sr., Vesta Johnson, Brigette McConville, Wilson Wewa Jr., and Martha Winishut

In the Simnasho District, there are six nominees for three positions. The nominees are Carlos Calica, Taw Foltz, Raymond Moody, Emerson Squiemphen, Lincoln Suppah, and Levi Van Pelt

Voting will be done in-person with COVID-19 restrictions in place and masks required. Drive-up voting is available to elders, and absentee ballot drop-off boxes will be located at Simnasho longhouse and Seekseeque Fire Hall until 8 p.m.
