For much of the week as election results have poured in, the race for mayor of Culver has remained tight.

As of 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, the race for mayor of the City of Culver appears to go to Bart Carpenter.

Bart Carpenter holds the lead, as since first results came in. He currently has 50.99% of the vote, trailed by Gillian Soderstrom, who holds 48.02%. With 504 votes currently reported, only 15 votes separate them.

Jefferson County Clerk Kate Zemke provided this insight into the tight race for mayor. "No recount would be required today if there were no more ballots to process for the Culver Mayor race."

Zemke expects to update vote totals on Wednesday, Nov. 16. She has 117 ballots coming by mail from multiple counties, as well as several challenged but resolved ballots. The clerk's office is also awaiting ballots not received from the post office that were postmarked by Election Day.

Zemke will run these additional ballots on Nov. 16.

Official results will not be available until Nov. 30
