Fitzhugh gets a seven-year prison sentence for soliciting underaged sex online

James Clinton Fitzhugh, 40, was found guilty on Nov. 7 of three counts of second degree online sexual corruption of a child.

Fitzhugh, of Madras, was originally indicted by a grand jury on four counts of online sexual corruption of a child in the second degree in April of 2021. He committed the acts in February of 2019.

In the indictment, Fitzhugh is accused of unlawfully and for the purpose of arousing and gratifying a person's sexual desire, knowingly using online communication to solicit a child to engage in sexually explicit conduct and offered to physically meet with the child.

Fitzhugh pleaded not guilty to all charges and was found guilty by the court on three of the four charges.

Fitzhugh is sentenced to a total of 84 months in prison and two years post-prison supervision. He is also required to register as a sex offender.
