Wind farm?

To the Editor,

Please note there is a short time to comment on the proposed Brush Canyon Wind Turbines in South Wasco County. There will be only one ODOE EFSC public hearing. That is at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, Central Oregon Community College Community Room, in Madras.

Comments are due to ODOE EFSC Dec. 9.

Review the proposed order and application. German-owned “E-On,” the world’s largest private utility, wants a Mega Industrial Wind Farm in Wasco and Sherman counties.

Endangered: More than 70,000 acres range and farm land, wheat lands; wildlife habitat; centered between Deschutes and John Day scenic rivers; raptors, eagles, hunting; the Journey Through Time Oregon Scenic Byway, and the vintage historic Western towns of Antelope and Shaniko.

ODOE says: “Comments: Public testimony (oral or written) will be taken at the public hearing ... Or, mail, fax or email comments before the close of the public hearing on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 to: Sue Oliver, siting analyst, Oregon Department of Energy, 395 E. Highland Ave., Hermiston, OR 97838. FAX: 503-373-7806 sue.oliver “

Now is the time to get informed and speak out.
